Novel waterproof, windproof, breathable (WWB) Australian Merino Outdoor wool garments, designed to protect against the all extremes of the weather.

The technology

WWB technology currently employs membranes to achieve WWB functionality. For example, micro-porous PTFE (poly-tetrafluoroethylene) membranes, or micro-porous PTFE membranes with a hydrophilic inner coating, or hydrophilic membranes, are hot melt laminated onto a polyamide (nylon) outer fabric. The nylon fabric may have rip-stop technology built in. Alternatively, a hydrophilic membrane may be applied to the outer fabric via direct coating methods.
