Akira Isogawa and Australian Wool Innovation have been working hand in hand to promote the great qualities that Australian Merino Wool brings to apparel manufacturing.
“The versatility of Australian Merino wool knit and woven textiles provide me with an entirely new inspiration… I find I am able to drape, to make fabric flow, to fit garments, to have sheer or thick, truly transeasonal garments… all with this amazing natural fibre” said Akira.
Akira Isogawa’s interpretations of fabric and Australian Merino wool in particular are unique and highly regarded, by showcasing his Australian Merino collections worldwide via trade and industry events it truly has assisted AWI in launching Australian Merino wool to a wider international buyer and media base.
Moving forward Akira Isogawa is working on a number of new elements including new designs using the innovative high twist yarn Australian Merino wool textile. Paris is also a feature on Akira’s upcoming calendar and he will soon showcase his Spring Summer 07 collection at Paris Fashion Week (Prêt-à-Porter) in October.
Akira has boutiques in Sydney and Melbourne and is available in a number of boutiques across Australia including David Jones. He is also stocked in thirteen countries worldwide.
